The Invisible Collection's New York showroom occupies 1,752 square feet on the Upper East Side, steps from the Metropolitan Museum of Art and the cultural institutions of Museum Mile. The renovation was entrusted to Garcé Dimofski, the Lisbon-based multidisciplinary design studio known for its material-driven, architecturally grounded approach.
The brief was precise: create a space that feels like the home of a discerning collector — not a gallery, not a retail environment, but a living interior where every object belongs and every surface tells a story. The result is a salon of sorts, characterised by subtle Art Deco details that carry an unmistakably French sensibility, reinterpreted through the material language Garcé Dimofski has made its own.
Solid chestnut anchors the space — warm, dense, and worked with the quiet confidence of Portuguese craftsmanship. Glazed ceramics with the studio's iconic finish introduce tactile depth and sculptural presence, while soft, timeless textiles soften the architectural framework and invite visitors to linger. Together, these materials create an atmosphere of considered permanence — a space that feels as though it has always existed, and always will.
Running adjacent to some of New York's most established art galleries, the showroom is conceived as a destination for collectors, architects, and interior designers seeking pieces of genuine rarity and provenance. Each object on view carries the spirit of the collectible — selected for its ability to hold meaning across time, across contexts, across interiors.
This is not a showroom in the conventional sense. It is a house of objects, designed to make visitors feel the weight and pleasure of things made to last.
